Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival

March 21-22, 2020

1 of 34
Celebrate a Pinkalicious Spring with the
Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival

We are excited invite you to our Spring Celebration, the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival! Shop among hundreds of unique art and craft exhibitors, eat your way through the multiple food courts, enjoy cultural performances, listen to live music, and play in the children's area.

The Cherry Blossom Festival originated as a way to encourage cultural understanding and friendship through international music, dance, games, food and crafts. The cherry blossom is a symbol of short-lived beauty in Japan, and the City of Conyers embraces this tradition as well. The blooming of the cherry trees offers a time to reflect upon our lives. Like the blooming of the trees, life is short, so you have to appreciate and embrace it.

The Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival has received many awards over the years for Best Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Festival and Events Association. It has also been selected over the years as a Top 20 Event in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.

Kimono Classes

1 of 4
Learn about the Kimono, a traditional Japanese garment, and the national dress of Japan. Various types of kimono indicate the wearer's age, gender, and the formality of the occasion. Types of kimono can range in formality from the extremely informal to the most formal of occasions. These classes will explain how to identify the different types of Kimono, and the traditions behind them. Classes are presented by Wolfhome Adventuring Outfitters.

Kimono Basics: Identification Class
12:00 Noon
What is a kimono? How do you tell a women's kimono from a men's? What is the difference between a yukata, a kimono, and a wedding kimono? This class will help you to understand what it is you are looking at when you see these beautiful garments on display or being worn.

Kimono Basics: Getting Dressed
This class is an introduction in how to dress yourself when wearing kimono. A look at the different layers worn and how to put them on. After all, we don't want to dress ourselves in a way that is meant for a funeral if we're not actually the guest of honor at the funeral! With audience participation there will be demonstrations on how to tie multiple obi bows towards then end of the class.

Kaitlyn Baker

1 of 3
Born and raised in the small town of Pound, VA, Kaitlyn Baker rises from the depths of the coal mines where her family has worked for generations and where coal dust covers more than just the birds in a veneer of black. Baker has always known that singing would carry her far beyond the Appalachian peaks that she calls home. Referred to as a modern day "coal miners daughter," her pure country voice rings of true and her songwriting rivals Nashville's finest

Baker's debut single "Burn" charted on Music Row's Breakout Chart in 2015 and inspired the creation of Kaitlyn Baker's BURN Sauce, a hot sauce produced by Pepper Palace in Sevierville, Tennessee. Her follow up singles "Coal Train" and "To Pieces" garnered national attention on music industry charts and media outlets. In 2016 her self-penned "Heart of Appalachia" song was adopted as the official theme song of the Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority, a nonprofit organization that promotes tourism.

Baker has performed coast to coast, and has opened for Brad Paisley, Tanya Tucker, Craig Morgan, Brett Eldredge, Travis Tritt, Billy Currington, Chase Bryant, Rhonda Vincent, Jim Lauderdale and many others. In 2020, she will embark on a European tour. Baker is also hitting the airwaves on Country Hits Radio with Baylen Leonard. Baker headlines at the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday, March 21 on Stage 1 at 4:00PM. A special thanks to Ingles for making this performance possible.
