In addition to the excitement at the Horse Park, many event attendees choose to explore the attractions of the surrounding area. Visit the Monastery of the Holy Spirit and the Walk of Heroes/Veterans War Memorial. Head into Olde Town Conyers for a unique dining and shopping experience, and spend some time with us in one of our local hotels.

Olde Town Conyers

The beautiful Olde Town section of the City of Conyers is just a short drive from the Park. Shoppers and sightseers love to stroll down the streets of this historic district, with its specialty stores and charming restaurants. Don't be surprised to find a celebration, parade or festival going on in Olde Town. The area is full of diverse and fun activities.

Walk of Heroes/Veterans War Memorial

The Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial is located in northern Rockdale County, and recognizes the sacrifices of veterans that served in WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War. The Walk of Heroes produces several patriotic events and programs throughout the year, and offer the public the opportunity to purchase bricks in honor of or in memory of veterans who served in any branch of the U.S. military during the 20th and 21st century.

Monastery of the Holy Spirit

Visitors and citizens of diverse religious backgrounds enjoy the serene surroundings of the lovely Monastery of the Holy Spirit. Located on an historic 2,000-acre plantation, the Monastery was started in 1944 by a group of Cistercian monks. Visitors can explore the beautiful landscaping and scenery, browse the gift shop or relax by the lake and enjoy the solitude. The new Monastic Heritage Center includes the Abbey Gift Shop and Cafe, Visitors Center, the Abbey Garden Center, Bonsai Nursery and Green House, and the Memorial Plaza and Prayer Walk. The Monastic Heritage Center features both new and renovated historic Monastery structures that integrate elements of learning and hospitality.
