When is the next horse show?
The Georgia International Horse Park is the host venue for a variety of horse shows, rodeos and other equine events throughout the year. For upcoming show information, visit our Calendar of Events. If you see a show of interest, double click on the show name for event details and contact information. Most horse shows offer free admission for spectators. Some equine events, clinics and rodeos charge an admission fee and/or parking fee.

When is the next trail race, obstacle race, 5K or mountain bike race?
With 1,400 acres and miles of trails, the Horse Park is an ideal location for a variety of sporting events. To view upcoming sporting events, check out our Calendar of Events. If you see a sporting event of interest, double click on the event name for event details and contact information. Be sure to visit our website often as the event calendar is updated daily.

How do I get to the GIHP?
The GIHP is conveniently located off of I-20 on Hwy. 138 in Conyers, Georgia, just 25 miles outside of Atlanta. Click here for specific directions.

Where is the closest airport?
The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is 34 miles from the GIHP (approx. 45 minute drive depending on traffic).

What is the parking situation at the GIHP?
If you are coming to the GIHP for a specific event, the designated parking areas and parking fees will be determined by each event. Upon arrival at the GIHP, follow signs to your event location. You can also visit the Calendar of Events, and double click on the event you are attending to view fees and/or direct contact information.

If you are planning to visit the GIHP for a private event or for passive recreation to enjoy our trails, the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center, or Arboretum, parking is free. However, be sure to check our Calendar of Events to make sure these areas are open when you plan to visit. Due to events, these areas sometimes close to the general public.

Is the Georgia International Horse Park dog friendly?
The Georgia International Horse Park in general is dog friendly, as long as dogs are on a leash. However, certain events or areas of the Horse Park may not allow pets on certain days, depending on the specific event. Please contact the promoter of each event you wish to attend to make sure they wish to allow pets within their rented event space. Dogs are not allowed in restrooms, banquet rooms, or restricted areas. Please pick up after your pet to keep our Park clean for all visitors.

Does the Horse Park offer trail rides or riding lessons?
No, the Georgia International Horse Park is a horse show facility, and we do not board horses, offer riding lessons or offer trail rides. If you own your own horse, we welcome you to ride the trails on site. There are no fees required to ride the trails. Be sure to visit our Calendar of Events to check for any trail closings before you arrive! Learn more about our trails here.

All horses on Georgia International Horse Park property, whether for an event, trail ride or other purpose, must have proof of a negative EIA issued by a licensed veterinarian within the last twelve (12) months. Further, anyone with a horse on the premises must abide by all Georgia Department of Agriculture rules and policies, including, but not limited to, the prevention of equine infections disease.

Does the Horse Park have banquet rooms or other event spaces for private events?
Yes, the Horse Park has a variety of banquet room options, as well as outdoor spaces for private events of all types. We are a popular venue for weddings, banquets, receptions, showers, birthday parties, company picnics, family reunions and other social events. Click Here to learn more!

What is there to eat at the Georgia International Horse Park?
The Winners Circle Café and Grill is centrally located within the Georgia International Horse Park next to the Charles Walker Arena and is open to the public during most show days. Enjoy hamburgers, deli sandwiches, salads, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, sodas and more! Special events taking place in other areas of the Horse Park may offer satellite concessions. I am looking for an outing with my family, what is there to do at the Horse Park?
Whether you are attending an upcoming event or looking for a day or weekend getaway, the Georgia International Horse Park has a lot to offer. Escape for a while on our trail system, providing scenic trails that are great for mountain biking, horseback riding, or walking and running. Visit the Arboretum or take a stroll through the Big Haynes Creek Nature Center.

Hop aboard a train ride with the North Georgia Live Steamers, offering public train rides throughout the year on a miniature railroad. The public run dates for each year are listed on our Calendar of Events. Trains will begin operation at 1pm on the public ride dates, and rides will conclude with the last train at 4:30PM. The cost to ride a train is $2.00 per person. Run days may be canceled for inclement weather.
